Project Success: AES Shell & Tube HX & Feed Effluent Reactors for Feed Effluent Reactors
Metalforms LLC recently reached an important milestone with the successful design and installation of AES Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers at a petrochemical facility in Texas.
Our in-house engineering team delivered a complete thermal and mechanical redesign, incorporating a metallurgy upgrade to 1 1/4” Chrome to ensure long-term durability and reliable performance under the facility’s demanding operating conditions.
The project included the fabrication of five custom shell & tube heat exchangers, each measuring 23 feet, 4 inches in length and weighing roughly 12,900 pounds, with a design pressure of 450 PSIG on the tubeside. As critical components of the feed effluent reactors, these exchangers play a key role in improving processing efficiency.
At Metalforms, we specialize in custom design and fabrication with a focus on proactive solutions. By fabricating replacement parts ahead of scheduled outages, we help clients minimize downtime and reduce overall project costs. In addition, our strip and retube services extend the service life and efficiency of both exchangers and air coolers, ensuring continued reliability across operations.
